Technical Difficulties

How do I book a movie?

To login in to you account to be able to book or look at the availability of titles in your local MoviebanK store you will have to do the following:

1. Find your store in the store locator on the top of this page.
2. Access the online booking page and you will be asked to enter your login and password details.

When you join in store, you will be given an online login number to be able to book online. The password for your online account is the same as the one you chose for your membership card.

If you try to login in and can't please give a call to your local store.

3. Once you are logged in to the website choose the title you want to reserve and click on reserve, you will be asked to enter your password again to confirm your booking. If you made a mistake you can cancel by clicking on the reserve button again.

4. The movie or game you have booked is now reserved for your collection within the next 2 hours, simply swipe your membership card on the pick up and return section in store.

 
What browsers can I use to access your site?
To use this site you should have an up-to-date browser with JavaScript and cookies enabled. We know that users of both Internet Explorer 6 and Mozilla Firefox are connecting and using the site with no reported problems. If you have a problem accessing any part of our site please let us know on support@mb24.co.uk

Apple Macintosh Users

Some users of Macintosh computers have experienced problems using our site to purchase. We are aware of problems occuring using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2 and Apple Safari and are working to resolve these issues as soon as possible . We do know that users of Mozilla Firefox running on Mac OS X are currently enjoying trouble-free access. Firefox for Mac OS X can be downloaded from the Mozilla.org site. Other browsers based on Mozilla such as Netscape 7 or Mozilla Camino may also have favorable results. We have been informed that users of Mac OS 9 can use an earlier version of the Mozilla Suite. Please be aware that this browser is quite old, and does not contain a number of security features and enhancements added to later versions.

Unsupported Browsers

The Moveibank website can not be accessed using Netscape 4.x or below, nor with Internet Explorer version 4.x or below. These browsers are more than five years old do not contain certain features that are essential to view and navigate most modern sites.

My Booking

How do I search for a title on the website?
There are two ways you can find products on the site; by either browsing through the listings or by using the Search feature. To browse, click on the most appropriate tab at the top of the page and then click on the most relevant link on subsequent pages until you find what you are looking for. To search for titles, simply type in a relevant keyword in the search box on the top left hand side of the movies tab, choose Title, Actor or Director from the drop-down box and then click "Go". All products relating to your keyword will be displayed. You can also search by Actor or Director by clicking on their names on any product page featuring them. For example, if you click on "Peter O'Toole" whilst looking at the product page for Lawrence of Arabia, a list of films starring Peter O'Toole will be displayed.
 
Is it safe to book through the website?
It is completely safe to book through our website as no personal information is stored on our web servers.

How do I change my personal details?
Any change of personal settings has to be asked for in store during joining hours. Feel free to call us and we will go through security checks first to insure the information given to us by you is yours truely.
 
What is your policy on Privacy?
We are commited to keeping your details private. Our full Privacy policy is availabe at the bottom of this page.
 
Can I top up my membership card online?
For security reasons you can only add money to your memberhsip card when you are in store.
We accept all major credit and debit cards. Call your MoviebanK store if in any doubt.
 
How do I cancel my membership?

As we don't charge to keep your membership valid there is no need to cancel your membership.
Your membership has no expiry date and no one other than you can use your account unless you have given permission for an other person to do so.

 

DVDs

What are DVD classifications?
Moviebank display the classifications given to the DVDs by the British Board of Film Classifications. The BBFC is required by law to classify each video sold in the UK to ensure that viewers watch only appropriate material. What are DVD Regions?
The film studios introduced a system of "region coding" in DVDs due to concerns about piracy being promoted by differing release schedules worldwide. The United Kingdom and Éire are, along with most of Europe, in Region 2. Moviebank only rent Region 2 DVDs and should play in all British or Irish DVD players.
